Meet the Staff
Adria Lau
Adria Lau is the Program Manager at the Clean Boating Foundation. She is currently in her senior year at the University of Washington, majoring in Environmental Science and Art History.
In addition to being Program Manager, Adria also works at the Strand Lab–an environmental engineering lab studying phytoremediation. She is currently assisting with the research of the permafrost melt in Alaskan Lakes and streams, a project funded by NASA. Adria is also researching the effects of bio-solids on kale growth and nutrition as well as restoring a park on Mercer Island to its native habitat. Her past experience includes volunteering at the UW Herbarium and Greenhouse, as well as two years at the UW Sailing club. Adria’s main goal at the Clean Boating Foundation is to strike a balance between the environment and business.
After a long day, Adria can usually be found sailing, canoeing or swimming. After all, it would be expected that naming your child after the Adriatic sea would give her an immense love of water. Adria also considers herself and artist, musician and equestrian.
